A coal-fired power plant in China's Sichuan province.
China now emits more CO2 than the entire developed world combined—completely cancelling out all the sacrifices you are being forced to make in the ludicrous pursuit of Net Zero. 🤔

I'm sure most of ya already knew this. 💚 I try to do the best I can at reducing my carbon footprint but companies make it so hard these days and they shouldn't. They should have options to opt out of using as much AI as you can or all of it. And to the people who don't know this and think like Trump where you're gonna get "beachfront properties" 🤦‍♀️...I hate to tell you this but that's not what is going to happen. What will happen is MASSIVE sinkholes, tsunami's, earthquakes, wildfires, volcanic eruptions, severe winds and rain and snow; it's not just a rise or decrease in water. It can cause an environmental apocalypse that will reduce the world to nothing but rubble.

Meghan Markle & her 12+ bags arrived in Santa Barbara via a Boeing jumbo jet. Great idea having them as a sponsor. (Video)
Tumblr media
I wondered how many suitcases were required to transport nearly a dozen brand new winter coats to the Games.
The Daily Mail has the video footage of the jet arriving in Santa Barbara. How was she there for five (5) days?
Flight on Feb 11th from Vancouver to Seattle to Santa Barbara

Did they arrive on Friday? Flight on Feb 7th from Santa Barbara to Vancouver

Canadair jets lease for $8,000 per hour.
Video:
She didn't even bother to carry 1 of her dozen new coats off the plane. She left it for the help. Several shopping bags, 4+trunks, xtra large duffle (maybe security/driver). 🤦‍♂️

Nice Vacation
"Prince Harry and Meghan had an early Valentine's dinner date with close friends Michael Buble and his wife Luisana. The two couples spent over two hours at an Italian restaurant after they completed their first full day of engagements in the ski resort. The dinner date was at the upmarket Il Caminetto where they spent Valentine's Day last year during a two-day event to promote the Invictus Games.
People Magazine: The couple have been warmly welcomed by friends and family of the competitors as well as skiers who are in the resort for a holiday. They delighted a 1,000 strong crowd at a celebration event to open the games in Whistler where competitors will take part in adaptive winter sports, such as the skeleton and biathlon.
SECURITY
Plans were not given in advance for security reasons, and a source close to the couple said: 'This was always planned. Meghan is going home to be with her children.
'Meghan left the Games in Dusseldorf early after five days to go home. This is Prince Harry's event and she is there to support him, but this was planned. 'It comes after Meghan was said to have told fans at a wheelchair basketball game in Vancouver on Sunday that she was missing her children. Harry meanwhile, will stay in Canada to watch the rest of the tournament for injured service personnel and veterans, which will end with Sunday's closing ceremony. While this means the couple will be apart on Valentine's Day this Friday, aides said that Meghan had always planned to leave and let Harry attend the remaining events solo."

coldplay gained all of my respect after reading this post on reddit (as in, i will definitely start following them on social media so i can see things for myself and i will listen to their music without feeling embarrassed about it - viva la vida has always been a banger, i'm a bit uncomfortable with things like princess of china and some collabs - but i probably will never see them live or buy their albums...)

The richest one percent of the global population are responsible for the same amount of carbon emissions as the world's poorest two-thirds, or five billion people, according to an analysis published Sunday by the nonprofit Oxfam International. While fighting the climate crisis is a shared challenge, not everyone is equally responsible and government policies must be tailored accordingly, Max Lawson, who co-authored the report, told AFP. "The richer you are, the easier it is to cut both your personal and your investment emissions," he said. "You don't need that third car, or that fourth holiday, or you don't need to be invested in the cement industry." "Climate Equality: A Planet for the 99%", was based on research compiled by the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) and it examined the consumption emissions associated with different income groups up to the year 2019. It was published as world leaders prepare to meet for climate talks at the COP28 summit in Dubai later this month. Fears are growing that limiting long-term warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius could soon be impossible to achieve.

Interviewer: "Some people would even say that if you just planted enough trees, it could take care of the climate issue altogether."
Bill Gates: "And that's complete nonsense." "I mean, are we the science people, or are we the idiots? Which one do we want to be?"
Even if you assume that CO2 is somehow a "pollutant" that needs to be sucked out of the air (it's not, and it doesn't), you'd think trees which suck CO2 out of the air for free would make the ideal candidate. But no, apparently we need to impoverish ourselves into squalor, building hideous expensive and totally unnecessary carbon capture technology attempting to solve a non-existent problem. 🤔

Blog #5- Understanding and Addressing Climate Change
Hi everyone,
Welcome to my week 5 blog post!
This week, I will explore the significant impacts of climate change on our planet and its effects on ecosystems, biodiversity, and the future of life on Earth.
What is climate change?
Climate change refers to long-term shifts in temperatures and weather patterns. These changes can be natural, such as those caused by volcanic eruptions or they can be human-driven, primarily due to burning fossil fuels. According to the United Nations, since the 1800s, human activity has been the main driver behind the effects of climate change. You may wonder why burning fossil fuels has such a significant impact on our Earth. Burning fossil fuels generates greenhouse gas emissions, which trap the sun's heat and lead to rising global temperatures. Carbon dioxide is the most abundant greenhouse gas emitted by human activity. Sources of these emissions include energy production (such as burning oil, coal, and gas), agriculture, and transportation.
Tumblr media
Fun Fact: Did you know that CO2 emissions are the highest they have ever been in the past 2 million years, reaching 420 parts per million (ppm)?
Climate Change and Its Impact on the Earth
Climate change is an ongoing issue that affects our planet in numerous ways. The increased levels of greenhouse gases lead to more frequent and intense weather events, such as storms, floods, extreme heat, droughts, severe cold, and heavy snowfall. Additionally, we are witnessing the effects of ocean acidification as the oceans absorb more carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, resulting in a drop in pH and putting marine life at risk. You may have noticed these changes in your area. I remember when I was younger, we used to experience much more snow than we do now in the winter!
Climate Change's Impact on Wildlife
Climate change has a significant impact on wildlife threatening many species around the world. Rising temperatures alter vegetation and food sources, forcing animals to migrate beyond their native habitats in search of more suitable conditions. This increases the risk of extinction for many species. Additionally, the growing intensity of extreme weather events has led to significant habitat destruction and loss of life among wildlife populations.
One species that is severely affected by climate change is the polar bear. These animals depend on sea ice for mating, resting and hunting for seals, their primary food source. However, as arctic temperatures rise and ice continues to melt, polar bears must travel greater distances to find food, leading to malnutrition and low reproduction rates.
Scientists predict that by 2050, two-thirds of the world's polar bear population could disappear.

What Can We Do to Help?
There are many ways to reduce your carbon footprint and protect our future and our planet's future:
- Use public transit - Carpool - Bike or walk for shorter trips - Recycle and compost - Choose sustainable brands - Planting trees - Use renewable energy
In some cases, it can be difficult to reduce our carbon footprint. Some people may be unable to make specific changes, so it's important to recognize that. For example, if you work far from home, you might need to drive your car to work every day. Switching to solar, wind, or hydropower can be costly and unrealistic for some families. However, small actions, such as recycling, composting, minimizing waste, and choosing more eco-friendly brands, can also be just as effective in reducing our carbon footprint.
Questions for further discussion:
What was the most interesting thing you learned from my post?
What actions would you take to mitigate climate change?
Thanks for reading!
